Dominic Wells is a highly motivated and well qualified Risk Manager with a wide variety of experience in government, the defence, nuclear and IT industries who can offer risk management consultancy and training at both strategic and tactical levels.
Recent assignments include managing risks (including opportunities) and business continuities for projects in the nuclear industry. Projects have included new build, laboratory refurbishment and infrastructure renewal.
Dominic has provided risk management consultancy in the IT industry with an assignment on a major project to deliver an integrated computer infrastructure across the whole of the MoD. He has worked with the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) on major IT development projects and infrastructure rollout programmes.
Dominic has also worked extensively in the defence industry providing risk management support to ship building programmes and to armoured vehicle and artillery projects.
As Secretary to the APM Specific Interest Group (SIG) on Risk, Dominic is directly involved in promoting and developing the discipline of Risk Management especially in the project and programme environment
Before becoming involved in risk management Dominic was a project manager and electronic engineer with a major UK engineering company developing and delivering sonar systems for the Royal Navy and other allied navies.
Dominic is skilled in risk workshop facilitation and can also develop quantitative models of cost and schedule risk exposure using Monte Carlo simulation. He is able to build up strong productive working relationships and communicate at all levels providing a service to decision makers at all stages.
